Viktor Orbán hrozí zákazom dúhového sprievodu v Budapešti

Maďarský premiér Viktor Orbán vo svojom výročnom prejave 22. februára 2025 pohrozil zákazom organizovania sprievodu PRIDE Budapešť. Okrem iného ho označil za stratu času a peňazí.
Právo na zhromažďovanie a na slobodu prejavu patria medzi základné ľudské práva garantované európskymi a medzinárodnými ľudskoprávnymi dokumentmi a inštitúciami, ako je napríklad Európsky dohovor o ľudských právach Rady Európy, ktorý bol Maďarskom ratifikovaný v roku 1992, pričom tieto práva sú súčasne chránené aj maďarským zákonom.
„Viktor Orbán stojí na čele vlády, ktorá LGBTI+ ľudí v Maďarsku roky znevažuje, dehumanizuje výrokmi a upiera im ľudské práva, kvír partnerstvám a rodinám zabraňuje zrovnoprávneniu. Stojíme za všetkými LGBTI+ ľuďmi v Maďarsku, za kolegovstvom v PRIDE Budapešť, podporujeme ich v snahách o uplatnenie si základných práv a slobôd, a teda aj v organizácií sprievodu hrdosti. Aj tu sa ukazuje, že PRIDE sprievody sú v našom geografickom priestore primárne protestom, vyjadrením nespokojnosti s nerovnocenným postavením a neprijatím kvír ľudí v spoločnosti. Vývoj spoločensko-politického kontextu je za posledné roky dynamický naprieč svetom, je preto v záujme nás všetkých naozaj pozorne sledovať vývoj aj v okolitých štátoch a spolupracovať naprieč krajinami, kultivovať spoločné hodnoty vrátane bezpečia, pomáhať si a podporovať sa. Tlak zhora sa bude stupňovať, naša odolnosť bude kľúčovým faktorom v udržateľnosti protiváh,” hovorí Vero Moňok, hlavné koordinátorstvo PRIDE Košice.
Saplinq, o. z. ako organizácia, ktorá každoročne pripravuje PRIDE Košice, vyjadruje vážne znepokojenie nad zneužívaním LGBTI+ ľudí a ich práv vládnucou mocou v Maďarsku. Ľudia, ktorí v Maďarsku organizujú podujatie PRIDE alebo sa akýmkoľvek spôsobom zastávajú kvír ľudí či svojej komunity, sú oddané občianky a odhodlaní občania, ktorí bojujú za rovnosť a bezpečnosť všetkých ľudí bez rozdielov. Vyhrážanie sa a zastrašovanie maďarských občanov a občianok, ktorí a ktoré patria a podporujú LGBTI+ komunitu, zákazom základných ľudských práv je neprípustné a hanebné.
„Podujatia ako sú sprievody hrdosti sú tiež lakmusovým papierikom toho, či vláda rešpektuje slobodu prejavu a demokratické princípy fungovania štátu alebo či zneužíva svoju autoritu na umlčanie tých, s ktorými nesúhlasí, na vymazanie postojov a aktivít, ktoré jej nevyhovujú, vyvracajú jej demagógiu. PRIDE sprievod je protestným zhromaždením, ktoré okrem iného inšpiruje, prináša rôznorodosť ako obohacujúci aspekt pre spoločnosť a taktiež podnecuje k osvete,” uvádza Manu Kościuszko z advokačného oddelenia Saplinq, o. z.
V týchto náročných časoch, keď je v Maďarsku ohrozené každodenné živobytie občanov, sa maďarská vláda rozhodla ísť opačnou cestou. Nájsť si obetného baránka v podobe LGBTI+ ľudí a snažiť sa preniesť pozornosť na nich. Dôvod je jednoduchý, reálne problémy, ktoré trápia maďarské obyvateľstvo, riešiť nevedia.
Napriek týmto jasne protizákonným snahám predstaviteľov štátu sa PRIDE Budapešť konať bude, a to – 28. júna 2025 – pričom oslávi svoje okrúhle 30. výročie. Saplinq sa PRIDE-u Budapešť osobne zúčastní, pretože veríme v právo každého človeka, nielen v Maďarsku, protestovať, vyjadriť svoj názor a postaviť sa za seba a svoje práva. Zároveň vás vyzývame, aby ste sa k nám pripojili a vyjadrili svoj nesúhlas s ďalším nerešpektovaním a odopieraním práv a slobôd LGBTI+ ľudí ako jedným z nástrojov politickej manipulatívnej agendy.
Zároveň, ak máte finančné prostriedky, prosíme vás, aby ste podporili PRIDE Budapešť v ich boji za rovnosť a rešpekt všetkých ľudí.
Viktor Orbán threatens to ban the rainbow march in Budapest
In his annual speech on February 22nd 2025, the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán threatened to ban the organization of the PRIDE Budapest march. He referred to it as waste of time and money.
The right to assembly and the right to freedom of expression are amongst the fundamental human rights guaranteed by European and international human rights documents and institutions, such as the European Convention on Human Rights of the Council of Europe, ratified by Hungary in 1992, while they are protected by Hungarian law as well.
„Viktor Orbán has been at the head of the government that has been derogating LGBTI+ people in Hungary for years, dehumanizing them with statements and denying them human rights, preventing equal rights for queer partnerships and families. We stand behind all LGBTI+ people in Hungary, behind our colleagues working on Budapest PRIDE, we support them in their efforts to exercise their basic rights and freedoms and therefore also in the organization of the pride march. This case illustrates that, in our geographical area, PRIDE parades are primarily a protest, an expression of dissatisfaction with the unequal status and non-acceptance of queer people in society. In recent years, the development of the socio-political context has been dynamic across the world, so it is in the interest of all of us to indeed monitor closely the development in neighboring countries, to cooperate with each other, to cultivate common values, including safety, to help and support each other. The pressure from those in power will increase, our resilience will be the key factor in the sustainability of the counterweights,“ says Vero Moňok, Head of Košice PRIDE.
Saplinq, o. z. as an organization that annually prepares Košice PRIDE, expresses serious concern about the abuse of LGBTI+ people and their rights in the narrative of the ruling power in Hungary. People who organize PRIDE events in Hungary or stand up for their communities in any way are dedicated and determined citizens who fight for the equality and safety of all people without distinction. Threatening and intimidating Hungarian citizens, who belong to and support the LGBTI+ community, by banning them from exercising their basic human rights is unacceptable and shameful.
„Events such as pride marches are also a litmus test of whether the government respects freedom of expression and the democratic principles of the state or whether the government abuses its authority to silence those with whom it disagrees, to erase attitudes and activities that they do not find convenient, that refute its demagoguery. The PRIDE march is a protest gathering that, among other things, inspires, brings diversity as an enriching aspect to society, and also encourages awareness,“ says Manu Kościuszko, Advocacy department, Saplinq, o. z.
In these challenging times, when the daily livelihood of citizens in Hungary is threatened, Hungarian government officials have decided to take the opposite route. Finding a scapegoat in the form of LGBTI+ people and trying to shift attention to them. The reason is simple, they do not know how to solve the real problems that plague the Hungarian population.
Despite these illegal efforts by state officials, PRIDE Budapest will be held – on June 28th 2025 – celebrating its 30th anniversary. Saplinq will personally participate in the PRIDE Budapest because we believe in the right of every person, not only in Hungary, to protest, express their opinion and stand up for themselves and their rights. At the same time, we invite you to join us and express your opposition to curtailing the rights of LGBTI+ people as a way of utilizing manipulative political power.
